Curbside Pickup and More
We are pleased to announce the following services:
Law library staff will now have access to the print collection. This will enhance our ability to offer you more complete reference service, and we will scan and send material from the physical collection – including our historical documents.
Circulation and curbside pickup will be available. Contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org or 612-348-3022) to request particular titles, or log on to catalog.hclawlib.org and place a hold on titles there.* Our existing circulation policies remain in effect: circulation is available to subscribers and government employees; all others must leave a $40 deposit per title and are limited to two titles/twice per year.
The Law Library welcomes returns at its book drop on the street level of the Government Center.** Due dates will be extended through July in recognition that some borrowers are not yet returning to downtown Minneapolis.
The Law Library continues to balance the needs of our users with the county’s concern for the health of residents. County administration has asked us to develop plans that promote customer service while minimizing the number of people entering the law library – this announcement reflects those priorities.
Remember, law library staff will engage in more in-depth research during this time of “Stay Safe Minnesota” and will send you tables of contents, lists of search results, etc. and engage in a dialogue with you to ensure you get the information you need for your work.
* Curbside pickup will be by appointment only and limited to one delivery per day. Drive, bike or walk up to the curb cut on the west (driver’s right) side of South Sixth Street, directly under the Government Center building.
** The Law Library book drop is a wooden box found on street level on the North Plaza side of the Government Center (the side with the fountain and light rail stop). It is just inside the glass doors at the base of the escalators, near the Security Desk.
